Riding the Trails in Keystone, Equestrian Style
We are fortunate to be in the Keystone area where trails are plentiful for bicyclists, hikers, and equestrians.
Today my husband and I took our horses on a nice trail ride at Lake Conservation Park.
There is something for everyone at this six-hundred-acre park. For nature lovers, there are five lakes, cypress swamps, pine flatwoods, hardwood hammocks, and lots of wildlife. Clear, marked, wooded pathways guide hikers, cross-country runners, mountain bicyclists, and equestrians. There is also a fitness trail with workout stations, an archery range, two horse arenas, and opportunities to fish and boat on the lakes. The Park has a track for Tampa BMX and radio-controlled car racing.
We have found this park goes beyond meeting our needs as equestrian riders and besides the trails we also enjoy the beautiful riding arena.
Please note, if you walk your dog in the park, a leash law is strictly enforced. Make sure to follow all of Lake Conservation Park’s Rules and Hillsborough County Ordinances. This helps to keep everyone safe!
Time to go riding, so see you at the next trail!
